Hey folks, I have had a blackstone for a year but I have just used the griddle side until tonight when I used the charcoal.

My question is, how do I smother this fire when there’s no lid?? Is my only option to leave the grill uncovered all night & just wait for it to cool down? Any advice would be much appreciated. I don’t really want to go to bed just leaving it out.

Charcoal can just cool down overnight BUT move it away from that wall/building for safety. Great product you have there, grill on!

My guy you gotta move that away from your house. See the siding starting to warp? Come on man. As for the coal, yeah you could let it burn out or move it to something with a lid like a metal bucket.

You can always douse it if needed. A bit messy for cleanup but it works – don’t need to much.

  4. Move that away from your already warping siding.

That looks cool, but not super useful design. With no lid, you can’t cook indirect, and like you learned, can’t extinguish the coals. And the griddle is pretty small.

In my opinion, would be better off with a Weber kettle and a dedicated Blackstone.

Is there another version of this with propane grill instead of charcoal side? Half flat top and half propane grill?

  6. Nice concept but it’s lacking a lid for the grill side… Not very practical in my opinion. I wouldn’t want it.

The siding looks a lot better now. I’ll tell others about the home improvement trick….
