The Italian Ambassador to Poland Luca Franchetti Pardo inaugurated yesterday in Warsaw the 11th edition of the “Italian Wine Exchange in Poland”, an event organised by the Ice Agency in synergy with the Italian Embassy.

“In Poland, attention is growing towards the high-end of the Italian wine and food sector and there is a widespread love for our country. It is precisely this public that looks at our wines with interest, creating important growth margins,” said the ambassador.

According to Roberto Cafiero, director of Ice in Warsaw, “in 2024 Italy was confirmed as the leading supplier of wine to Poland, in terms of both volume and value, with around 37 million litres exported – equal to 25% of the country’s total wine imports – and a value of 121 million euro, up 5.5% on the previous year.

In this context, the Wine Exchange this year saw the participation of 30 companies from 12 Italian regions (compared to 10 in 2024) and a walk-around tasting with over 150 labels, twenty-five more than last year. To further extend the promotional impact, two additional masterclasses will be held in Gdansk on 5 June and in Poznań on 17 June.
