I was in Wisconsin a few weeks ago visiting. Walk into a really nice grocery store to get cheese curds to bring home. And saw this. I’ve never seen A5 Japanese Wagyu anywhere where I live. Didn’t buy it, but I think I should have.

I would take that home and milk boil it immediately.
Too late now
Grossly overpriced
Looks fantastic. I would have to get one at least. A place by me has A5 spinalis/ ribeye cap. $8-15 for an amazing experience.
It’s a fair price. Looks lovely
I think you should eat A5 at least once for the experience. It’s great,
I’ve found I’d rather get at least twice the amount in good American wagyu or prime than A5 for the same price.
Which grocery store?
Good ol waygu
Holy shit I never knew it was priced like this. I guess I’ll never have this in my life then
Not a great price but not terrible either
This stuff is nasty. Way too much fat and not enough meat.
Ohhh, you missed out… damn those look good.
Not a fan. I’ve had it a few times. My brother in law loves it. I find it has a waxy feeling on my tongue and the fat has a bit of fish oil like flavor. Maybe it’s just me.
Should of*
It’s been said a million times, but A5/wagyu is excellent in small quantities. As a whole steak potatoes thing? Nah way too decadent
That price is absurd
You wouldn’t want to eat that much A5.
Costco sells A5 ribeye at some locations for $65/lb
Like the old Wendy’s commercial…. “where’s the beef!?”
I’m a big fan of marbled meat, but there has to be some meat in it.
Nah. Costco had it for 59.99
I always wonder where are all the other cuts? Can I get some Wagyu brisket, stew meat, chuck roasts, ribs, skirt steaks, all the other stuff you get from regular beef is not to be seen in stores?
this costs more than my groceries for the whole week 😭😭
I’ve never had one and I love steaks. I’d love to try one but the amount of marbling makes it look like you would just be basically eating fat with a little meat. I know this is an ignorant take but that’s what it looks like to me.
