Ingredients ( Approx 10 pieces):
For the dough:
300 ml lukewarm milk
200 ml lukewarm water
45 ml vegetable oil (about 3 tablespoons)
15 ml salt (about 1 tablespoon)
1 packet baking powder
Approx. 580–585 g wheat flour (type 405) (about 1100 ml)
–
For the filling:
300 g ground beef
2 medium onions
3 green chili peppers
1 red bell pepper
2 tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
Half a bunch of parsley
20 g tomato paste (about 1 tablespoon)
20 g pepper paste (about 1 tablespoon)
60 ml vegetable oil (about 4 tablespoons)
Salt, black pepper, red pepper powder (to taste)
——————-
Preparation:
Mix milk, water, oil, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Gradually add flour and knead to a soft, slightly sticky dough. After kneading about 10 minutes, divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls (about 10-11 pieces). Place dough balls on a floured surface, cover with a damp cloth, and let rest while preparing the filling.
Finely chop or blend onions, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, and parsley. Place in a large bowl. Add ground beef, tomato paste, pepper paste, oil, and spices. Mix well until spreadable. Refrigerate if desired.
Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Roll out one dough ball thinly, about plate size. Spread a thin layer of filling on top. Place in pan, cover with a lid, and cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is browned. Remove and keep warm. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
