Kinda looks like a fanny flap. lol. (British fanny, not American.)

Yeah wayyy too much. Like that’s so much crust it’s crazy. Absolutely too much. You shouldn’t eat it at all, I’ll take one for the team and take it off your hands

I like some colour on there, and I like the flavour of the Maillard reaction, but I don’t actually enjoy a crispy layer on my beef lol. So for me yes, there can be too much crust. Fortunately it’s all personal.

Doesn’t matter the color on the outside as long as it is pink and juicy in the middle… wait… what are we talking about again?

Yes there is a such thing as too much crust the scientific name is burnt. But that’s not the case here so enjoy the fruits of your labor

If there is such a thing you’re not there yet. Looks awesome.

As long as the grey band is minimal and the surface isn’t charred/burned, no such thing as “too much crust”.

    Nicely done.

Yeah, once the outside is charred and tastes like ash. I have had that happen at a steakhouse and completely ruined a good steak.

There IS such thing as too much crust but this isn’t it.

Only time it’s too much is if it’s burnt. This is perfection.

There is such a thing as too much crust, but this is definitely not an example of that.

I would drag my ballsack across miles of 40 grit sandpaper just to listen to this steak sizzle through a broken SR-54 radio from world war 1.
