Upon entering Happy Valley Racecourse, guests will find themselves transported to the vibrant and lively French capital of Paris. The iconic Beer Garden will feature mini versions of the city’s most iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, creating the ideal backdrop for those perfect Instagram moments and racing experience.
Foodies can indulge in an extensive menu of French culinary delights. A specially designed food truck will offer authentic, delectable dishes such as Provencal Beef Stew in Red Wine Sauce, Basque Chicken Stew with Rice Pilaf and vibrant Macaroons for that perfect sweet ending. A more extensive menu including wine pairings will also be available at select venues. A dedicated booth showcasing wines from the country’s most renowned regions including Bordeaux, Aix-en-Provence and Cotes du Rhones, will appeal to oenophiles and racing fans alike. Gastronomes also must not miss the French Master Chef event on May 24, which features a gourmet French menu complete with wine pairings designed by Michelin-star chef Franky Semblat and sommelier Sebastien Chevalier. Co-hosted by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and Tatler, guests will include VIPs.
Happy Wednesday is known for its stellar entertainment, and May will be no exception. Expect a variety of exciting acts planned throughout the month, kicking off with LA VIE EN ROSE on May 3, featuring a live band led by Sabra playing iconic French hits spanning the decades. Roving performers dressed in traditional costumes from Versailles’ Masquerade Ball will transport the crowds to the iconic French historical landmark, which is also being honoured concurrently at the Virtually Versailles Exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin.
On May 17, FRENCH STREET FESTIVALS, will include a high-octane performance by Le Groupe Electrogene Fanfare Club, while visitors can immerse themselves in a quintessential French city experience complete with street artists, mimes, jugglers and other performers.
May 24 and 31 pay tribute to the HEART OF MONMARTRE, one of Paris’ most vibrant districts. Guests can revel in heart-pounding can-can performances and marvellous musical showcases by Murphy’s Law, wrapping up an exciting month of French joie de vivre.
Happy French Wednesday will run from May 3 to May 31 at Happy Valley Racecourse, Hong Kong.
