I picked up this jalapeño cheese loaf and am out of ideas what to do with it. I’m a fairly experienced home cook I just don’t want a ton of work and dishes haha. I was thinking like a breakfast casserole or something? I’m not really on a diet so doesn’t need to be super clean or low carb just not glutinous.

Toast it up and make a frittata! I had a bunch of leftover English muffins that I was truly unexcited about, 1 sausage that had been in the freezer forever, some eggs, cheese, and spices and it came together in a frittata so nicely
I generally don’t meal prep bread items, but I bet that’d make some KILLER grilled cheese sammiches!
The frittata and breakfast casserole ideas are great. Cut it up and toast it for some soup croutons, salad croutons. At least some of it, but not all of it because it’s too good for that
This would make a delicious egg casserole—bread cubed and left out to stale, caramelized onion, sautéed bell pepper if you like them, shredded cheese, 8-12 eggs, milk, garlic, little mustard powder, cooked & drained breakfast sausage, a can of diced green chiles if you want to bump the jalapeño flavor. Lasts for days in a casserole dish or portion, securely wrap, and freeze for future use.
Chicken salad sandwich 🙂
You could make a strata with it which is basically a savory bread pudding. With a jalapeño cheese loaf I’d probably mix in some corn, green onions, maybe some kind of meaty something like some bacon or maybe some crispy chorizo crumbles?
These are delicious as a sandwich! Not really a meal prep type of food but you might be able to get two sandwiches out of it!
throw some tomato soup in the mix? toast the bread up?
You could make breakfast casserole/savoury bread pudding, or you could slice it up, put shredded cheese on it, and melt it until browning on top in the oven.
Side for chili
Toast it, cream cheese, sliced Roma tomato’s, salt pepper.
Make a savory bread pudding! Use that as a search term, and a lot of really good recipes that are pretty easy to make come up.
Savory French toast
Basically what everyone else is saying. Croutons. Bread pudding. Savory French toast.…. You can always portion it out, wrap it tightly in plastic, and put it in the freezer to use later.
If you like tuna melts it might be good with that!!
I make jalapeno cheddar bread every now and again. I like to toast it up and have it with soup, jambalaya or chili. It would probably make a great BLT sandwich.
