Anyone know what this dish on the bottom left is?
We had a lunch near the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto that included this raw egg on rice dish. I’ve tried googling a bit but the only thing I’m finding is Tamago Kake Gohan, but I think there was more to this dish than that. Maybe the rice had some kind of miso mixture with it? Not sure. It was incredibly delicious and I’d like to find a recipe for it.

You’re in luck, [here](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxFhCB2SrPH/?igsh=YWY2MXFzamR4Y2o5) is the chef making this oyakodon, not tamagokakegohan (TKG for short). He mixed egg with dashi and tempered it first before adding the whole yolk on top. It also should have chicken as it’s an egg / chicken bowl but I don’t see that part in the video.

From Google Maps photos, it looks like a ‘golden egg bowl’. The menu says: ‘The dashi broth is mixed with exquisite heat to create a “melty egg”‘. I want to try it too! I think it’s similar to ‘oyako don’, so you could search for the recipe!

I ate there a year ago and that egg dish was one of my absolute favorites! I’ve been wondering what it was for the past year!
