Total newbie here. Flying Emirates First tomorrow and would love some recs from their wine list. I tried their 1982 Tawny Port on my last flight and it was amazing!
Thanks!

Nice – enjoy the ride!
For me, I would go: 2015 Dom 1er Cru Chassagne Louis Jadot 2008 Leoville Barton 1982 Tawny
Sent during United Economy Flight where we have “limited catering” 🙂
Try a little taste of everything; it won’t be a problem for the cabin crew.
You’ll find your favourites.
Enjoy.
(I am not envious at all…)

Any ideas on where I can find that 1982 port? Feeling a little iffy about buying online. Thanks!

Dom and Jadot for me

Tried the leoville Barton for their 2022 tasting. Surprisingly amazing for something so young. Can imagine 2008

As much Dom as I can enjoy, please and thank you.

My father was a captain for Emirates, so I got to fly first a few times. I drank a bottle of 2000 Cos d’Estournel around 2015. Nice flight.

If you get a chance have a nose around the First Class Lounge at DXB. Emirates is one of the largest wine buyers on the planet, and whilst the list you’ve shown is great, they have even more high end stuff lurking around. I’ve been served Château Palmer and Clos Vougeot there, and others have reported anything from Krug to Le Pin to Haut-Brion just lying around.

Nice! I just came last week in first class as well, and they had a 2004 Mouton Rothschild, which was fabulous. They even had a small decanter that made a big difference! They have some great parings with cheese and caviar that are a must try.
Have a great flight! It’s a great experience and awesome service

But seriously, enjoy!!
If you like sweeter wines, Château de Fargues (sweet Bordeaux) is one to try for sure. Could be fun to have the Fieuzal beforehand to compare a dry Bordeaux with a sweet counterpart, and complete the Bordeaux trilogy with the Léoville-Barton.

P.S: Enjoy the shower as well 🙂
The Mercurey is young but I recommend it.
