I hate to do it… But I don’t hate them being served this way. Fried foods get soggy when they lay on plates and trap steam between the food and plate.
Like this, only a tiny point is touching, so they’ll likely stay crisper longer. If they are serving them individually (which isn’t uncommon), it also takes up less room on the table if you order more.
I’m normally pro r/wewantplates, but I have to give this one a pass.

even us argentinian hate this and make fun of this. There’s a pretentious part of the city where they try to do “glamorous” dishes like this and they are over priced.. Empanadas alone are fine, this is totally ridiculous
