Spotted at Sydney airport. Thankfully I’d already had breakfast.

There’s a restaurant local to me. The place is decent, not my favorite, but it’s not bad. I asked for tonkotsu and the waiter emphasized “the tonkatsu ramen.” I couldn’t stop myself from chuckling. Mind you there’s heavy Japanese influence in my state.

Tonkatsu dressing? Tonkotsu dressing? I’m confused.

$24 for Ton**katsu** Ramen (as opposed to Tonkotsu)? Is this in SF/NYC?

What’s the confusion here? I’m confused.

Wtf is “free range soy egg”?

I don’t trust anyone who can’t understand the difference between tonkatsu and tonkotsu, much less a restaurant serving both those items

The “ton” in Tonkatsu and Tonkotsu means “pig” and yet the bowl doesn’t have a pork option? Katsudon would have been a better name.

Tonkatsu Bowl and they don’t have pork as protein option.

The only reference to tonkatsu is the dressing, which i guess is taken from Bulldog Sauce bottle

It’s so funny how I immediately knew this was Australia without even looking at OP’s comments

There’s a restaurant my friends raved about, Underbelly. It’s white people ramen. So we went, and it was much like this. I took them to a real ramen spot a few weeks later and their minds were blown.
