I always think that at the start of the season, then I lose a couple to random weather or accidents, a couple more get stunted or over/under fed, aphids invariably get one or two and except for last year, lose a couple to hornworms.

I dont think its possible, anyway, always plant more than you need, you never know what will visit during growing season.
