Only transients. There was a family of kitties in my yard a couple years ago, it was adorable and they helped keep the rat population at bay (my neighbors are an apartment complex with a big dumpster).

It looks like Donut takes their job very seriously.

I don’t have a picture, but our cats (3) have collectively decided that my beet bed makes a great litter box

  4. I am very lucky to have outdoor space in NYC. We found ours in our last apt’s yard as a feral. We started feeding her and she even learned to open the door and let herself in our apt. She was a single mom a few years before we met her and was TNR’d by a local rescue who deemed her too spicy for socialization.

I know Reddit hates indoor/outdoor kitties but she is an expert mouser. I had a dinner in the yard with my girlfriends and she wanted to participate and brought a mouse and ate it with us.

Now she spends her time slacking on the sofa and enjoying chewing on our + neighbors’ catnip from the AM to dinnertime. She doesn’t stray far and I hope her presence will scare off the rodents from my tomato plants.
