There’s some sad restaurant news to kick off the month, as one of Calgary’s popular Italian eateries revealed it has closed its doors after seven years.
Buffo Ristorante, which was based at CF Chinook Centre, has announced that it has officially closed its doors following the closure of the Saks Fifth Avenue store.
“With the closure of Saks Fifth Avenue, our time at CF Chinook Centre has come to an end, and we’ve officially closed our doors,” the restaurant shared in an Instagram post.
“A heartfelt thank you to our amazing guests, our passionate team, our wonderful suppliers, and the vibrant community that made Buffo a special place for great food, good times, and lasting memories these past seven years.”
The spot was known for its classic Italian comfort food, including pasta, pizza, arancini, and more.
Buffo was run by Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality, the group behind fellow YYC restaurant The Guild and more than 25 restaurants across Canada.
While Buffo will be missed, we’ll be keeping an eye out to see what’s new for the space.
