Sous vide flank steak, roasted broccoli and zucchini.
Baby led weaning is all about introducing your baby to the same foods you eat (with caveats for safety) to encourage independent, adventurous eaters and discourage picky, beige eaters.

former chef here, my first will be born tomorrow. good inspiration.
Here’s a little secret the self published parenting manuals won’t tell you: add hot sauce to random dishes to sow a healthy distrust of persons in leadership and a taste for yummy southwest cooking!
This is how I was raised and my father was raised. My abuela would cook the food normally for the rest of the family, and for the babies the meat would stay plain in the oven slowcooking in juices until tender. I never ate gerber baby food or anything. I ate lots of small hunks of chicken and beef with slow cooked carrots etc. The US is so weird about having “baby food” companies!
My kids loved sweet potato and zucchini as babies. Now they can’t stand it. Oh, well, we tried.
Planning on also doing with new baby, only 4 weeks til he’s here 🥰
Baby food in jars is just so ridiculously expensive and why not just give him ingredients we eat. My step kids are a lil picky and so is my SO, I want my kid to be like me when it come to food lol
Hate it, but metabolically I’m not a baby. So, idk. This might be a question for Caillou fans….
How many people did your baby serve?
Avocados and cottage cheese always works.
I used to do this with my daughter. She was a very picky eater so I’d deconstruct every meal but would playfully organize it on the plate. She still would never eat it. Mom would always cave and just make a corn dog instead.
My mom called broccoli “little trees” and spinach “leaves”. Also fed us buffalo sometimes and just called it “meat”. Oh yeah and then also all she had to do to get me to eat asparagus was tell me it would make my pee stink.
I am fully on board with lying to you kids to enable them to eat like a human being when they’re older and have complete freedom to eat whatever they want. But starting from birth like this seems even better.
Some of my friends growing up ate the most disgusting high octane shit as their normal diet and it never failed to shock me.
Choking hazard dice those things up. 1/4”
Never woulda thought a baby could eat steak, but they can! Didn’t think they’d be able to digest it. I guess it’s meat, definitely didn’t occur to me though!
This is how my wife and I have been feeding our 10 month old and I truly enjoy making mini plates for her. I love being a baby chef! Baby led weaning is messy but very fun to share new foods with my daughter!
love this so much 🙂
Congrats man. My kiddo is starting to branch out of the beige stage too. Enjoy it!
You must only have 1 Michelin star. The plating is all wrong. /s
I was a super picky eater until I worked in the industry. Now I’ll eat just about anything other than seafood because I find it tolerable I can put it down and all but it’s expensive and I only tolerate it so I never go for it
Actually had a ticket ring in this past weekend that was a Med Rare NY strip and baked asparagus for a baby. I was equal parts confused and jealous
Yeah I tried this they still only eat mac and cheese plus fruits
Why is he feeding his baby a baby opossum head?!?
Can babies handle steak?
