Mods, if this breaks the rules, I’m sorry please delete and be lenient on my ban.

Oh no i see sweet chili sauce is that the reason for the name? 💀

Dunno if it’s meant the way I think it is, but I’m Chinese, and if I saw this on the menu I’d make sure I was the only one who ever got to make them for “authenticity” 😉🤣

That’s pretty insensitive but I’m curious to see a bunch of Germans saying it out loud. I bet that’s pretty goddamn funny.

Warum heißt der mit den Jalapenos nicht “feuriger Mexikaner”???

Forgive my ignorance, I’m American, but in the few trips I’ve made to Germany I don’t think I ever saw anything this absolutely tone deaf or racially insensitive. How, in 2025, does the owner/chef think this is okay to name a menu item?

Yeah that’s gross. You’d think they would have learned a thing or two about racism in Germany by now.

  8. For real though. I’m naming my next enchanted weapon in oblivion “Der Quacksalber”

Look, not all Germans are racist, but as an American who lived and worked in Germany for 5 years I can safely say that Germans don’t have the same cultural repercussions for blatant racism that we do in the US. Shit like this is way more common there- I saw multiple incidents of blackface irl which were shocking to me (not that this is blackface, but you get my point). Yeah maybe the younger generation is more aware of why this is wrong, but as a culture, Germans arent particularly appropriate when it comes to this.

I think its because of the lack of diversity in Germany- obviously there are people of color, but not like you see in the US- i think they just don’t face consequences for their clearly inappropriate racism on a social level because there hasn’t been a comparable social movement, like the US, to make this level of racism unacceptable to them.

Again, I know many Germans who are appalled by this type of thing, but I also have seen firsthand that Germans love to throw stones in glass houses, as far as racism goes- they “”can’t believe how racist Americans are” when learning about Jim Crow era US history, then turn around and see no issue with something like this. It’s very much so a reality of European culture that isn’t talked about a lot.

Pretty sure that’s a Harry Potter character

I’m so embarrassed 😳 someone seriously thought this was a good name for a menu!

  12. Reminds me of going to a sushi restaurant where a third of the rolls are named something along the lines of, “sum ting wong” or “love you long time”.

Europe, and specifically Germany, is so weird with racism. Either a minor thing that is straight to jail, or really racist things that are ‘funnt’

  14. ihatetheplaceilive

That’s just a whole bunch of xenophobia

  15. The first thing I thought of was Clayton Bigsby on Chappelle’s Show.
