On a recent trip to Portugal I really enjoyed these three wines from Bairrada, especially the Giz from Luis Gomes.
Would anyone familiar with Bairrada or Baga be able to recommend similar wines from other regions (globally)/ grapes that I might enjoy? I'm a relative beginner so any steers in the right direction to help find other bottles would be much appreciated! The elements I most enjoyed were the notes of dark fruits and the more full-bodied structure.
Other wines I tried on the trip which I also enjoyed:
• Titan of Douro
• Howard's Folly Sonhador
• Mestiço Perigoso from Alentejo
Final note, I live in Finland and importing alcohol is a nightmare, so recommendations from big producers who are likely to already sell in my region would be a big plus!

Baga (red grape of Bairrada) comes in a range of styles, but it’s often called both Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir of Portugal.
Of the things Alko likely stocks, I’d suggest you start with a couple different Langhe Nebbiolo (the more powerful Barolo and Barbaresco are less often comparable), Etna Rosso and maybe some Pinot Nero/Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir from Italy and Germany respectively). All of these, again, come in different styles. But hopefully one or more of them will be a good match. If Alko stocks any Xinomavro (from Northern Greece) that might be a useful shout as well!
