They already have Cajun, Asian, steak and seafood restaurants from Bay St. Louis to Ocean Springs and now the Nicaud brothers add a taste of Italy in South Mississippi.

Two Italian restaurants will open this year, starting with Field’s Italian Ocean Springs as part of The Antesian Hotel at 1110 Government Street, near Washington Avenue in downtown Ocean Springs. A job fair is scheduled for Jan. 23 and 24 and Nicaud says, “We’re going to be open in February.”

Field’s Italian Pass Christian is scheduled to open this spring at Pass Bungalows a mixed use resort right in the center of town at Market Street and Scenic. Drive.

Both locations are in the center of town and both will have hotel rooms and more restaurants as part of the development.

In Ocean Springs, “Cat Island Coffee is coming as well,” Nicaud said. Now with locations overlooking the harbor at Pass Christian and in Gulfport on Courthouse Road, the coffeehouse features “exquisite coffees, luxurious teas and soulful comfort food,” according to the company’s Facebook page.

In Pass Christian, Field’s Italian will be joined by a Bacchus Cafe, an ice cream parlor and other amenities.

The Artesian in downtown Ocean Springs is being readied for Field’s Italian restaurant, a hotel, Cat Island Coffee and an event venue.

He oversees their restaurants which includes Bacchus, Field’s Steak and Oyster and the new Toro Sushi & Saki in Bay St. Louis, where Chef Lauren Joffrion helped create an Asian Fusion menu.

Joffrion is working on the menu for Field’s Italian, Jourdan Nicaud said, and she will come over from Bay St. Louis to oversee the new Ocean Springs restaurant.

The upscale restaurant is designed to mix authentic Italian recipes — like their grandmother’s meatballs —with the vibrant atomsphere of Ocean Springs.

Grandma’s meatballs recipe will be used by the Nicaud Restaurant Group at their new Field’s Italian Ocean Springs restaurant opening in February and a second Field’s Italian coming soon to Ocean Springs.

On the menu are handcrafted pasta such as lasagna and spaghetti, pizza, sandwiches and great salads, Nicaud said.

They also will have a selection of wines and antipasto.

General manager in Ocean Springs is Ashton Seen, and Nicaud said she’s put together a great bar menu. Windows in the bar overlook the sidewalk and customers will be able to buy cold drinks along the sidewalk for festivals and parades.

Downtown hotel rooms getting readied

The Artesian Hotel in downtown Ocean Springs will have a stylish interior, Nicaud said, and fleur-de-lis brackets for the balcony that overlooks Government Street.

The 11 hotel rooms will be opening in March he said, and where Rooftop Tacos was will become the Mirror Bar for private events.

Pass Bungalows in the center of Pass Christian will be a 36-room hotel complete with a swim-up bar in the pool and other amenities, and the goal is to open it in the spring.

The Nicauds also are transforming the former Billups restaurant in downtown Biloxi, across from the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, into an upscale 12-room hotel.
