Any pellet grill is better than no pellet grill

I have one it’s super super easy literally just like an oven with far tastier results

I have had one of these for 3 years now. Still works great! It can also cook some great steaks if you open the grate and do direct flame!

Looks like the legs are backwards… I think the wheels are supposed to be on the other side. Not that it really matters, but it might be hard to roll around that way.

I bought the same one on Marketplace 3 summers ago with the intention of trying out pellet grilling. Now I use it way more than my gas grill and haven’t found the need to upgrade because it’s still works great. The key is to make sure you shop vac the fire pot after every 4-6 cooks or if you do a long smoke before and after.

Keep it covered or else the sun will destroy the screen.

It’s great once you get a feel for using it and its limitations. Mine runs about 50-75F cooler in the cook box than the temp set point on the controller. There are some aftermarket mods available that supposedly resolve this. I’ve learned to live with it and just set my temp 50F higher on the dial and monitor with the lid gauge and one of my third party ambient temp probes. Only having a few static set points allows less control but I’m usually targeting 250F in the cook box anyway. There’s also not much uniformity or even heating across the cook box, and its pretty thin gauge metal with no insulation or heat gaskets so it seems to rip through pellets. You’ll be surprised how quickly you use up real estate with just a few racks of ribs or a pork butt. I ended up purchasing a Weber Kettle last summer to supplement and its become my main choice for grilling low and slow or smoking. The Pit boss now handles quicker cooks or overflow when more space is required.

150 ain’t bad tho you can have fun for a little. I’d maybe look into a used one for a hundred more might be a little safer

Pit Boss is boss.

That’s a fantastic price for a nice little smoker. I got the savannah for about 200 on markdown at walmart last year and I’m beyond happy with it.

Nice find!

I like mine. Had it about 3 years. The only thing about mine is the actual temp is about 40-50 lower than what it’s set for. But knowing that, I’ve made great ribs, pulled pork, brisket along with a lot of other smoked stuff.

Definitely worth the price.

Good deal just a little small for cookouts

If this is a similar design as my old Pit Boss, there’s a weird quirk of how these units are designed: the curved baffle plate leaves a gap that hot air travels through. This gap feeds heat directly to where the temperature probe is, leading the unit to believe it’s a lot hotter than it actually is in the chamber.
The way I fixed it was crumpling up foil to fit the gap, and putting the plate on top. Totally changed how it cooked.
I really liked mine but I upgraded to a Camp Chef like a year later. $150 to learn the ropes of a pellet smoker is an excellent deal!

Can’t go wrong for 150

I had one for 10 years sold it for what I paid for it and it was awesome only sold because I was moving best grill and for 150 it is a steal

I got one as an “intro” to pellet grills. It’s served me fine with zero issues for about 2 years so far. It’s not really big enough but 🤷♂️

I have cooked some amazing food on this. Great price. Enjoy!

Bought mine on clearance at Lowes 2 yrs ago for $130. I’d offer $90 cash. Then fix the wheels. Smoke on it 1x per month in spring & summer. Has been great. I try to put my meat up in the shelf not the main grill to protect the meat. Made great pork butt, beef dino ribs, brisket, salmon etc. Jax devils pellets work best for me in it, I tried pit boss, bear Mtn etc.

I love my pellet grill. Some key notes:
Never keep pellets in the grill hopper unless you want issues. They will swell up and cause auger issues.
Always start and stop your grill correctly. Just unplugging it or switching it off is a no no.
If you have Amazon, pre load a rebuild kit in there in a list. If something goes bad, just replace it. Unless you have a human head size hole in the box, you’re fine.
I have gone two years of not cleaning the ash out of my box, and it worked fine until it didn’t. Just do yourself a solid and make a day of the year where you clean it up. It’s not hard with a shop vac, and you can toss that ash in your yard.
BUY YOUR PELLETS ON SALE! There is no need to waste money on pellets when they are not on discount. Learn how to read price per lb and go from there.
Speaking of pellets, make sure you have a variety. They do indeed cook and flavor differently.
Season, then smoke a pork shoulder overnight at the lowest setting during the winter, before you fall asleep. Wrap that baby up in foil, pour a cup or two of juice in there, seal it up and get that temp somewhere around 200 for 6-8 hours. Don’t burn yourself on the juices and always fold your foil upwards.
Enjoy!

I would never go pit boss. I think their support is terrible and within just a couple years, my pellet chamber started burning up every time I let the bloody thing up.
AnnaSure12
I have one and I literally clean it after every use. For a while I only used the top rack and would put a tinfoil tray on the bottom rack to help with less grease build up. Also never put the food above the fire without the cover over it cause when the meat drips it will make the flames huge.

I have one. Space is going to be your biggest complaint. A brisket will fit on the main rack but little to no place to put water. The top rack isn’t very big either and the headspace above it is tight. You’ll also want a smoke tube – ice never been happy with the bark but that could be my seasoning. If you want to cook like a grill there’s a very small area over the flame box too. With all that, I’ve had mine for about 2 years with no problems but it’s time to upgrade to a gravity or kamado.
