Anyone have a good method for making these hotter without adding too much extra flavor?

Maybe the best pickle that’s common in major grocery stores sure.

Best pickle? No chance over Claussen halves for normal pickles, Famous Dave’s devils spit for spicy pickles.

I really like the Bubbie’s brand. They’re spicier.

  4. I used to LOVE these, but their quality has gone down the shitter. The last 3 containers I’ve bought have all been so chewy/rubbery I couldn’t eat them. I saved the brine and threw out the pickles. I’ve been buying Grillos for years, now I just buy Claussen. Anyone else experiencing this?

Absolutely easy, throw a pepper or flakes in there. Dried will do just fine. Wait a few days and then capsaicin will have started to disperse. Wait a bit longer and it will disperse more.

  6. I add pepper flakes to get some heat( Flatiron:I Can’t Feel My Face)🤌.

  7. IMO Grillos is the best fresh packaged pickle brand and it’s not even close. Their pickle-de-gallo is amazing too if you can find it

I like this brand. It has slipped a bit but it’s still good. As mentioned, slice up your favorite hot pepper and add to the brine. Within a few days/weeks your spice level should jump a bit.

These tasted too much like cucumbers to me. I LOVE pickles, but can’t stand cucumbers lol.

Sucker punch brand is pretty damn spicy for a pickle

  11. I like to get the Hot pickle chips, chop up two habeneros, let them soak. And when the pickles are done I’ll add onions, carrots or cucumbers to get extra outta the brine

Did not think they were spicy. I’d rather small packages of Oh snap hot and spicy pickles over this brand. They are just way overpriced for what it is.

Are these the ones with lil slices of habanero? I’ve had that one and it’s not that spicy but has good flavor.

I haven’t tried this brand, but when I buy my favorite brands of spicy pickles, the first thing I do is throw 2 habaneros and 2 serranos in, along with a whole bunch of schezuan peppercorn.

If you happen across them in your grocery store, McClure’s also makes a great spicy pickle with superior texture.

I usually add a couple drops of Dave gourmet ghost pepper sauce to the vinegar and let it blend with the juice naturally

I would beg to differ that they are “easily the best pickle”. I would say they are completely middle of the road in quality and utterly without any unique characteristics. I’ve had more better pickles than these in my life than i could ever remember
