Tough location, I always wanted to go here because the dining room looked gorgeous but I never heard enough good things about the food to make it a priority to go out of my way

The location is fine, the food was really mediocre and the service was too. I wanted to love this place but was totally nonplussed when I went there.

What’s up with the low Google rating? Seems like there is an agenda against them

Wow, actually sad about this one. I remember in 2021 when dining out in LA was really picking back up, Gigi’s felt like the hottest spot in town and a very tough reservation to get. We went a handful of times over the years—including most recently this past Valentine’s Day. I actually always liked the food and the vibe. It was a nice place to get a really solid steak and enjoy really solid cocktails.
I also could see this coming. While they were white hot for some time, they sort of got lost in the shuffle of the glut of new openings in 2022 and 2023, when places like Horses debuted. I had a weird feeling when we went on Valentine’s Day (for the first time in a year or two) that things weren’t looking great for them. We were able to make the reservation same day, and the restaurant was not very busy.

I liked the food and the space, but the service was literally shit. Slow waitstaff and their FOH was not good.
Also, they made it seem so much cooler than it was trying to be a Chateau or Tower vibes. At the beginning, no reservations without a certain # and if you were a newbie, they would only seat outside and not inside. For people that go to chateau, SV bungalows etc, this wasn’t necessary.
