How often do you pick your bush beans? I love the idea of doing 1 large harvest every few days, but i find if I don’t pick them every day, some of them get too huge!

Daily. Those are huge, and I like mine tender.

I also pick daily. I like them slim and tender. Maybe leave some that are further along to save for seeds for next year unless u don’t mind them bigger.

Every two days minimum on beans, cucumbers, and summer squash for me.
Outdoor_Releaf
Not often enough (weekly).
ByteVigilanted
I try to pick them every day or two before they get too big
anb1017
Every other day, usually

Just dont let them overmature. People tend to like them a little more on the tender side. So dont let them get TOO big.

That’s dinner right there.

Not only do you want to pick (very) often to get them while they’re tender, but letting beans mature also negatively impacts the production yield of the plant. Peas, beans, cucumbers – they produce more, the more you pick their fruits. They stop producing if they develop a mature fruit.

Every couple days

Usually every day, especially at their peak. It’s easy to accidentally miss a few, and harvesting every day helps catch the ones that are hiding in the leaves.

Daily is ideal, but every 2 days is fine.
Prionnebulae
Not often enough. Everything I have left is for seed. What variety are those?

Daily like asparagus. You may not always have a huge harvest but it’s best to get them the size and tenderness you want.
RovingGem
The more you pick, the more they grow.

I go out and pick my bush green beans every 2 to 3 days

Every day

So if you have to let them dry out, can you still eat them later or are they just for seeds at that point? I remember seeing my grandma spring and hang beans for eating, but I assume that was a specific type… TIA

Every day or bi-daily, depending on how fast they are. I don’t have my veggie garden next to my house, so it’s a routine to drive by after work. Got a little tray in the back of my car and I go home every day with the daily harvest 🙂
Always some lettuce, spinach, some strawberries and blueberries and a few beans. I’m in my garden daily anyway
srslyfun2
Daily and if too many you can always put them in a bag in a freezer if you have excess they freeze really well. I love them!
