I’m probably going to get down voted but idk
These are awful , they was just funny tasting to me and so dang salty
I don’t like COTS much but honestly I would prefer them over these
I’m sad I still have 9 cans
I’m very surprised these are so hyped up …..they are actually the worst sardine I’ve ate lol

It’s funny how subjective our taste in sardines is. I agree with you and did the same thing. Joined the hype and didn’t like it.
I actually used ChatGPT to recommend a brand and flavor of sardines based on my personal preferences. Ended up being spot on. Riga Gold is my new top pick. I suggest honing your tastes rather than following hype.
YOWCH that’s a lot of money spent on Sardjnes you do not love.
Before you send them to the food bank, they are a high quality product, and so you might try making something with them beside just putting them on a cracker.
For example:
Sardine pasta with a homemade or jarred pasta sauce
Avocado toast with sardines
Make a sweet vinegar dressing and marinate the sardines in that to counteract the saltiness
I’m also not a huge fan of Nuri. They’re not terrible imo but I do not understand the cult following at all.
I didn’t like the tomato nuris, but have yet to try a standard EVOO can. I thought it was the sauce that I didn’t like but we shall see….
I had the same experience with most premier Portugese sardine brands (E.g. Ramirez, Porthos, Nuri, etc.). They’re typically overcooked, tough, and overly salty.
I was thrilled to visit Portugal and bring home a massive haul of tinned fish, given their artisanal reputation. However, I was massively let down by all the hype.
Maybe tinned fish is not for you.
I’m with you. The Nuri mackerel in olive oil is the only can I’ve ever thrown out after a few bites. The taste was fine, i couldn’t get past the texture. Like a firm, dry, boiled snake.
I must say, I agree with you 💯. Tried ‘em once and that was enough
Such a strange spice blend in these.
