Urrrrrgh this is the first time this has ever happened to me! I put some royal icing in between and tried to put it back together (like a gingerbread house) but you can definitely still tell. Any recs on how to address this? It’s for a client tomorrow :/ TIA!

For tomorrow? Can you remake? Or discount if not

  2. Honestly I would repair the broken cookie best I can and pack it up separately to give to them for free, apologize and offer them an immediate refund off the cost of the one cookie + % off their next purchase.

Can you break off the bits at the bottom so it just looks like a bow and globe? Maybe with a box cutter (or a scalpel if you happen to have one lol)? Make sure you hold down the part you don’t want to break so it hopefully doesn’t crack the whole thing.

In future, I always make a couple of extras but I also always have 12 or so blank cookies in my freezer that are just in plaque shapes so if I’m really desperate I can always grab one of those and write some text or make up a little little drawing for them.

Ive received a broken cookie in my order and the seller just apologized with a sweet “happy accident” note behind that specific cookie. I didn’t mind at all that it was broken since it was just 1.

In the future you might want to consider making an extra one of each design. I do this and customers are always SO happy to see that there are a few extras. It’s my little insurance policy. I would subtract the price of the cookie, plus a little off a next order. If you’re swamped, raise your prices.

This is why I now make extra “extras” lol
