It’s grilling season!! I love this dish – I had swordfish prepared this way for the first time at an outdoor grigliata near the sea in Trapani, Sicily and I was hooked. Simple and delicious – Swordfish is marvelous this way, but you can also substitute other firm fish, such as tuna or grouper; just be mindful each fish has a different cooking time.

  1. My paternal grandparents retired to Florida when I was very young. Grandma was from Calabria. Stern stout woman with heavy Italian accent, was very sweet and a little mysterious and scary to a young kid. I remember her neighbor bringing over a large fish one day. It was so big, she cooked it in a turkey roasting pan. You know Lidia, those vintage black and white speckled granite ware roasting pans. It was a huge fish. She cleaned it and roasted it in butter, garlic and parsley and lemon juice. I was maybe 8 years old. It was the most delicious blue fish ever. My mom went to fish market the next day to buy one so grandma could teach me to make it. I still make it when I can find it. You always give me such sweet memories. ❤ Grazie!

Is that Joe’s son? He looks like Joe. Very handsome young man. College girls must have lost their minds!!! LOL

  2. Lidia your grandson looks so much like you and it shows how proud of you he is and yes I know you’re proud of him. Is he your oldest grandchild?

  3. Miles!! All grown up ❤️ I can remember him at your kitchen counter helping you when he was just a small boy!!! Maybe 3 or 4 years old. Time has flown by.
