I have no idea what I’m doing but the learning curve is fun.

Previously I used a heavily modified Gaggia Classic Pro and Sette 270. I never really managed to dial in very consistently. Unsure if it was the machine being single boiler or my own abilities. So far so good with the above though.

Currently brewing whatever arrives each Squaremile washed subscription.

I’m keeping the Niche around for decaf

Machine being single boiler makes no difference

Legend says they are still crying to this day.

I use the exact same 2 grinders and machine, been absolutely loving it!

What’s that box attached to the side of the Mara X? An extra water tank?

Did you change espresso machine & the grinder at the same time?

I wish the EG-1 came in white for your set up. It’s still beautiful though

Lmao at the opening line: “I have no idea what I’m doing.” Classic! OP, since you have money burning a hole in your pocket, I’d recommend getting a manual lever.. something like the Robot, Flair, or my personal favorite, the Leverpresso Pro, will teach you way more about good puck prep and extraction than a $3000 machine ever will. The LP is about $450 with stand maybe another $20 for a good tamp and you’d be good to go. Don’t be surprised if in your own time –viz not making espresso for others – you find yourself pulling out the manual over the Lelit.

Been eyeballing this machine. How is it?

Looks like you bought a grinder twice. Did you cry twice?

What is the rational for having 2 high end grinders?
