From a press release

“Slice & Pie, named the country’s #2 slice shop by Italian organization 50TopPizza, will open a second location in Union Market this summer. The DC-based business from master pizzaiolo Giulio Adriani will begin serving NY and Detroit-style slices for takeout and delivery from a stall in The Market, Union Market District’s food market occupied by 40+ independent merchants. Slice & Pie’s new location will share their space with Taste of Lucy, a bite-sized version of Adriani’s Italian cocktail bar Lucy (which also shares an address with Slice & Pie’s original location). Taste of Lucy will serve highlights of the original location’s menu including Neapolitan pizzas, a rotating pasta option, and select appetizers. An edited selection of Lucy’s cocktail menu, featuring about five cocktails and four to six wines by the glass will also be available, and the new location will offer a Happy Hour menu daily from 5pm until 7pm.

Slice & Pie and Lucy have operated their flagship locations at since 2022, and another Slice & Pie location is currently under construction at The Parks at Walter Reed. The fast-casual pizza spot serves slices and whole pies of NY and Detroit-style pizza alongside sandwiches, appetizers, and Italian desserts. Menu highlights at Slice & Pie include the Burrata Pie made with California tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh burrata, basil, and parmesan; the Detroit-style Pepperoni & Hot Honey with tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone, hot honey, and “cup and char” pepperoni; and the Federalist Pig Pie, a collaboration with the DC-based BBQ joint made with a white garlic base, mozzarella, Federalist Pig smoked brisket, caramelized onions, pickled onions, pickled jalapeno, potatoes, and sticky garlic sauce. Lucy’s menu offers a more traditional take on Italian cuisine with fresh pastas, Neapolitan pizzas, and authentic regional small plates like Eggplant Caponata and Prosciutto di Parma.

The two concepts will be separated by a wall spanning the 800 square foot space, with Slice & Pie featured on the left and Taste of Lucy on the right. Taste of Lucy will accommodate roughly 20 guests at booths and a bar covered by an Italian-style awning, and Slice & Pie’s space will offer guests a direct view into the kitchen where pizzas are prepared and cooked in the pizza oven.

Slice & Pie and Taste of Lucy will be located at 1309 5th St NE, Washington, DC.”
