I was looking online all day and did not find a steak and sardines recipe… so i tried it lol, not the best steak I've made but taste pretty good 🙂

  3. I do respect it but for me a can of sardines is perfect to shovel real quick and go about your day. A steak requires some true love.

    I’d eat it but my wife would never forgive me for even making me one. She would probably swear off steak for a while because of the association.

    Well, I wouldn’t not eat it. 😜 I agree with the other poster who said it gets less iffy the more you think about it. Definitely not a surf n turn I’ve ever heard of.

    I’m thinking the way to go is slice the steak and then layer the sardines between it. Sort of like a steak and sardine sandwich with steak instead of bread. Maybe I’ll try that sometime…

    If I was going to do this, I think I’d use the sardine oil to make a sauce. Or even make a really simple sardine pate. Maybe pair it with a crunchy salad (for texture) and bread to mop it up. Your version looks delicous though 🙂

    I know steak topped with anchovies is/was a thing, so this doesn’t seem too far-fetched. I’m sure it was tasty!

    I like the idea but not the execution. Though still a bold move👏

    My choice of tinned fish would be anchovies and use it either in the marinade or as a sauce base.

    For sardines, Im thinking maybe shallow frying with tempura batter and serving next to a steak would be my choice.

    I really like this idea, might have to try myself. Good choice of tins, but something about the pictures is really unappetizing lol no offense intended. Maybe some vegetables would spruce it up, very monochromatic.
