When I barbecue or grill, I usually cook enough for several meals and eat all week

The only thing I would be a little bit leery of
Like every chimney I have ever had seems like crap is cracking off of it and God only knows what chemicals and stuff is in there.
I feel like when you dump it the charcoal burns off any garbage

Never done a burger. You’re a culinary genius. Altho doesn’t it get too hot?

I do this with tuna steaks. 15 seconds each side and done. Less clean up, quicker cook time.

If you are the only one, you won’t be for long. That’s brilliant

If I’m making something like carnitas, shredded beef, or the pork filling for tamales I’ll do this to sear off the chunks of meat before I put em in the pressure cooker. It gives so much more flavor
Averen
I’ve done that for reverse searing steaks 👌

So I did this with the center part of my cast iron grate horrible idea. I heard a loud pop it actually broke a piece out of the diamond pattern

Vibingcarefully
yeah i won’t do that. I just light the grill up normal or with smaller amt. of briquettes, and usual grate on top.
Hey we all got our things we do.

You’re not. Do it Everytime it’s just me at home or sometimes share w/someone. But most of the time, I don’t share when using the chimney;)!

Its much faster, saves charcoal and less smoke towards the neighbors. This is how I grill when home alone
