I’m finally getting around to posting some of my recent standout wines. Next one on the list. One of the classic champagnes, a must-try. Both times I had it, I was surprised by how youthful it seemed. Not much information on wood usage, but if my information is correct, it would be 5% new oak and used oak for the rest. This was more pronounced in the 2007 than the 2005 I had. Maybe the most Burgundian champagne I have had so far. Shout-out to my friend who found this bottle for €100 in the supermarche during his vacation.
##Tasting note: Butter, smokey, yellow apple, nutty, brioche and very nice acidity. Well integrated mousse and long finish

€100 is a crazy good score on that bottle.
This is one of my personal favorites, cheers!

That’s a steal at 100. Comtes is great!

Big fan of this move. Comtes 2007 is such a vibe right now. Also that glassware is doing half the work — did you let it breathe or just go full send?
