let me show you how to make the quickest and easiest yellow rice that’s perfect for slowcooked meats barbecue or the famous chicken shuama bowl start with ghee or butter which just gives better flavor than a neutral oil and then add your besmmiti rice this is washed and not soaked toast it in the ghee for just a minute and then I add my seasonings which are salt garlic powder onion powder and turmeric then I add two cups of chicken stock per one cup of besetti rice and the chicken stock here is non-negotiable i also add some whole cardamom pods and some bay leaves and you could also add a cinnamon stick if you wanted and once the liquid reduces to the same level as the rice I lower the heat and cover with a lid and let it steam for 15 minutes then fluff up your rice and the best way to prevent this from clumping together is by transferring it to a serving platter and that way it can air out from all the steam i like to top my rice with a sprinkle of black pepper and some toasted almonds and if you’re not serving this right away make sure to cover it so that it doesn’t dry out

  1. Yellow Rice

The perfect accompaniment to slow cooked meats, bbq or shawarma bowls!

    2 cups basmati rice
    3 tbs ghee or butter
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp salt (adjust depending on salt level of chicken stock)
    2 bay leaves
    4 cardamom pods
    4 cups chicken stock

Sauté the washed basmati rice in ghee for 1 minute. Then add the salt, garlic powder, onion powder and turmeric and mix it in. Next add the chicken stock, bay leaves and cardamom pods. Once the water level reduces to the same level as the rice, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid and let it cook for 15 minutes. Then open the lid, remove the whole spices and fluff up the rice.

Transfer to a serving dish to prevent clumping.
Cover the rice to prevent drying if you’re not eating it right away.
