New RTG order arrived today and I realized I tend to take photos of the tins by brand but split them up by contents when packing them away. Does anyone here organize their pantry by brand instead?

I’ve been thinking about this and I suspect it’s going to end up as basically “daily” “nice” and “special” and leave it at that. But if I had a lot of space and could do it however I wanted it would be by fish type. So all the squid then all the salmon and so forth.

I have a bookshelf with my favorites, and that is organized by brand. The other is the pantry shelves, and those are by type. So I guess I go by both.

Where our storage space is constrained, i organize by package size and shape in a way that optimizes space usage. I buy my ‘daily driver’ sardines, herring and oysters in multipacks, so those get stored all together. The other fun, more ‘let’s try something new and exciting’ tins are roughly by content and package shape/size. Then there’s that one special tin that arrived today that currently sits right on the counter so that i can admire it 🙃

I organize by fish type because I tend to choose based on what kind of fish I’m in the mood for.

Type for my stash, I decide what fish I want, then decide if it’s an regular day or a special fishy day.

Fish type is my preferred method of organization

Mine is so disorganized, I get new stuff so frequently that I’m just shoving it in the shelf wherever I can fit them.
