BABYLON, NY — Babylon Social—a new “community-centered brewpub”—is celebrating its grand opening on Long Island next week.
The restaurant is inviting the public to join in the celebration with a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, June 11, at 5:30 p.m. It’s brought new life to the former Horace & Sylvia’s
In April, owners Chris Cappiello and James Economou told Patch they envisioned the restaurant as the community’s “go-to dining destination any day of the week, offering a unique blend of American and Italian cuisine.’
“Our menu features a fun selection of shareable appetizers, oversized sandwiches, wraps, burgers, fresh salads and an extensive selection of customizable brick oven pizzas,” Cappiello said. “Ensuring that there’s something for everyone, whether you are on a quick lunch break or celebrating with friends.”
Cappiello and Economou, who both hail from Long Island, said they’re creating an atmosphere that’s “modern and inviting, with an industrial chic design, a cozy ambiance and welcoming staff.”
“Our establishment is a place where guests can relax, enjoy great food, delicious craft beer and cocktails, and of course, create lasting memories,” Cappiello said.
The duo, who both had careers in the food industry on Long Island and beyond before they partnered up, chose Babylon based on its “vibrant village and immense potential for growth and community engagement.”
