1st time going to Rubi’s. Oh, why have I waited so long?
I have been to Pilsen tons of times, but never wanted to wait in the line at Rubi’s. We got there early today and got right in. Wow! So delicious!

Yes they’re very good, but it’s more like once a year place.

Looks pricey at $6/Taco, but they look amazing.

Exceptional tortillas + the ice chocolate was a hit

I went today for the first time later in the afternoon. Only two people ahead of me in line. Got pastor and squash blossom. The squash was very watery, and the pastor taco tasted good but was lukewarm when served.
Did not feel it would have been worth any long wait like they seem to have often.

i thought Rubi’s was a stall at Maxwell Market. Since when do they have a storefront?

Have you been to other places in the neighborhood? This is honestly on my short list of the most disappointing meals and worst values in all of Chicago. There’s a handful of exceptional tacos, but mine here lacked any authentic flavor, the wait was long for lacking business when I went, and the pricing bordered on offensive for me. Props for their solid tortilla and variety of salsa options, but I was unable to find one that complimented the food. Had far superior experiences at Taqueria Maribel (but less trendy), Carnitas Uruapan (different category and limited to carnitas offerings), and De Luna (best of the bunch, but trendiness have left with a line they struggle to keep up with).

Those tacos are huge. Gonna check them out this weekend

Wish I had another set of hands so I can give this place 4 thumbs down. Quality ingredients, poor execution. Wanted to try this place for a very long time, what a let down.
