We recently asked you on Facebook what your favorite drink of this summer was. The answer was clear: Aperol Spritz! Or do you say Spritz Aperol? In any case, many can appreciate this ideal orange terrace drink. But what if you wanted to drink an alcohol-free Aperol Spritz? Because you are pregnant, still have to drive or just don’t drink alcohol? That’s why we have this great recipe.

It seems that there are still a few nice summer days to come. If you have the ingredients for an Aperol Spritz without alcohol at home, you can enjoy yourself with the people who drink a real Spritz.

An alcohol-free Aperol Spritz is not for sale in the store. That is not possible, because the slightly bitter and fresh Aperol contains 11% alcohol. And of course we can’t use prosecco either. So we have to take a different approach, but we can promise you: this alternative tastes particularly good.

Make your own alcohol-free Apelrol Spritz: in the ingredients

a bottle of gingerino

You need one ingredient from Italy. Shame if you just got back from Italy. But maybe you have friends or family who are still there at the moment and can bring something for you? It is Gingerino, an Italian drink without alcohol.

But there are webshops who sell Gingerino and it seems to be in stores in Germany too. Another option is to send it via, for example eBay to come from Italy.

If you have any tips about the availability of Gingerino in the Netherlands or Belgium, you can add a comment below.

Gingerino is made from sugar, citrus extracts, spices and herbs, which give a bitter taste to the red and slightly sparkling drink. Like the Aperol Spritz, it comes from the Veneto region. You can drink it straight away, but you can also mix it with other drinks and that’s what we’re going to do.

schweppes tonic

In addition to a bottle of Gingerino (it contains 100 ml) you need tonic. Large bottle, small bottle or can of any brand. Well-known brands on the Dutch market are Royal Club, Schweppes and Kinley.

And then of course you need a real slice of orange, ice cubes and a nice glass.

Mix your own alcohol-free Aperol Spritz

Put the ice cubes in the glass. Pour the bottle of Gingerino over it, add an equal part (or more or less to taste) tonic and add the orange slice. You have a very refreshing non-alcoholic drink. Your own Spritz Aperol, without alcohol. Ideal for lazy summer evenings and parties.
