I spent two weeks in Japan and those are the ramen I had. Some were very random spots, but all were good and I would love to be still there to have more!
- Tsukemen Onnoji Sendai
おんのじ 仙台本店 – very nisboshi forward soup
2, 3. だし廊-DASHIRO-仙台南町通り本店 – ago shoyu ramen and shell ramen – sort of refined bowls, both were good
大谷餃子店 宇都宮駅西口店 – liked the al dente noodles
Yokohama Iekei Ramen Itabashiya
横浜家系らーめん 板橋家 – really liked this bowl, nori was almost water proof, I wonder what kind of nori it wasONLY ONE RAMEN 伊駄天 静岡店 – got the kara tsukemen and some additional hot something. Maybe it's just me, but it wasn't spicy at all. Well balanced bowl
Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum – Reireikei – mini bowl, really liked the chashu (and…the ochazuke, not in the picture, was made with ramen broth, very interesting)
Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum – Ryu Shanghai Honten – mini bowl, the kara miso paste was awesome, very garlic-y. Noodles were very good too
Uchoku
迂直(うちょく) – my first kombu-sui tsukemen. Very refined bowl, maybe a little too much for my tasteMenya Kokoro
麺屋こころ 蒲田店 – that really hit the spot. I should make a Taiwan mazesoba inspired bowl ASAP六厘舎 – ロクリンシャ – rokurinsha – Haneda airport, terminal 3. That suits better my tastes, very thick noodles, savory broth (but not too much) and a very nice spice paste

That’s indeed a quite random list lol especially since you have Uchoku in the mix
If you’re up for it, would love for you to share your stuff in r/rameninjapan as well with a bit more details, like how you found the places you did look up (like Uchoku)
As suggested by u/namajapan I’ll share how I choose every shop. I have a lot of shops that I’d like to visit, both on Google maps and on Instagram, but I travel with a gluten sensitive friend, so usually I make ramen solo missions in places near the hotel. Those missions are outside the breakfast/lunch/dinner meals, so are sort of an additional meal. In 2023 I were able to eat three ramen one after the other in different shops, today I’m older (or maybe slightly wiser), so no more than 1 ramen per day was had (except at the ramen museum).
1. Random place in front of the hotel
2.3. Had this saved on Google maps, perhaps from Ramen adventure website
4. Random place near the hotel
5. Had this saved on Google maps, perhaps from Ramen adventure website
6. Had it on Maps plus was recommended by a local tea farm guide
7. Wanted to try this because history
8. Wanted to try a style that I really like making at home but never tried in Japan
9. This has a little backstory. Seen in an IG story of Ramen_beast, found out that it was very close to the hotel where I was staying, decided to go in a supposedly less popular hour (went there at 15, seated at around 16). While in line found an IG story of Shikaku.ramen that was there a couple of hours before me. Surely the most hyped place I went. Google’s position does not really match the real position.
10. Wanted to have one of these possible options in my area at that moment: a refined Iekei, Niboshi mania or another tonkotsu-gyokai tsukemen. As I reached for the tsukemen place, the smell of nisboshi wasn’t right for me at that exact moment (was still full from lunch, but nonetheless ramen mission), so I went to the Iekei place, there was a little line and I lost interest in the things of this world. I forced myself to get back on track and decided that it was time for a soupless ramen. Through Google maps I found this store (position not matching) and had a great experience. Next friday I’m going to try and recreate the bowl
11. Airport ramen!
