The French restaurant is located at 512 Houston St. and is part of the AJ Capital Partners’ May Hosiery Co-op.
James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr will lead the restaurant, according to a press release. Starr is also responsible for Starr restaurants hospitality group, which includes Barclay Prime, Parc, Morimoto, The Dandelion and Frankford Hall, among others. It is seemingly Starr’s first foray into the Nashville market.
The first Pastis opened in New York’s Meatpacking District in 1999. The concept also has locations in Miami and Washington, D.C.
“Nashville has an electric mix of tradition and modernization. From what I’ve seen, it’s a city that honors its roots but never stops reinventing itself. That spirit aligns perfectly with the soul of Pastis,” said Starr, founder and CEO of STARR Restaurants.
“The opportunity to bring Pastis to Nashville’s culinary scene was one we couldn’t ignore. We look forward to welcoming guests this summer to a space that captures the energy of Nashville while staying true to the character that makes Pastis timeless.”
In-N-Out planned for RiverGate Mall site
In-N-Out Burger is planning a second location for the Nashville area at the former RiverGate Mall site.
The first Tennessee location is already under construction in Franklin, next to its future Eastern U.S. headquarters site. Another location soon to follow is already planned for Century Farms in Antioch.
Last week, Metro Council approved resolutions to allow In-N-Out to come to the Madison site, including a $300,000 donation. The entire RiverGate Mall site is planned for a mixed-use redevelopment.
Outlaw Saloon slated for Pie Town
A new bar called Outlaw Saloon is slated for Pie Town, according to a Metro permit.
The office park building in which the bar will operate, located at 801 Rep. John Lewis Way S., is already home to a personal training business called Outlaw.
There are also places with the same name in Chestnut Ridge, New York as well as Northern Utah, but it is unclear if either are affiliated with the planned Nashville location.
