Been doing this project for about a year now and I thought some people here might appreciate it

I like to cook in my apartment, about a year ago I started inviting friends over for dinner to have an excuse to cook. Soon it grew and I was making dinner for 14 people once a month or so

I charge for dinner, but just enough to cover ingredients. I don’t claim to be good enough to open a restaurant or even charge people for food, but if people are willing to come taste what I’m working on I’m more than happy to have them!

Would love to hear any thoughts or advice

If you’re ever in LA I’m happy to test it for you

Love it. I was in fine dining for years and always have envisioned doing something similar.

    Spot on dishes OP

  4. Looks good! Better plating than many restaurants. If you need someone to fill a seat in July let me know.

Interesting..! been doing this with friends (a lot less frequently) , following 11 madison park cookbook. Do you follow any recipes/have preferred cookbook. Most importantly WHERe do you get edible flowers in chicago. i tried marianos, special order at whole foods and restaurant depot but they had none/no option to order.

Isn’t this how 42 Grams got started before getting by a star?

Edit: which was also in Chicago.

  7. Looks sick!
Has it prompted you to pick up new dinnerware as this became a regular thing?

    Great pics and creativity OP!!

    Two questions for you –

    1. What time?

    2. Do you prefer red, white or champagne?

  9. Looks great! Followed on IG. How far out do you decide on dates? Don’t live in Chicago but visit every so often.

So pretty!! I’m so happy for you that you’re able to do this, and also have people in your life that participate. Hopefully they know how lucky they are

I did the same thing and it evolved into a full scale pop up. Your food is beautiful, keep it up

I also host dinners in my apartment but my fare is more simple and exclusive to (usually) one other person and two cats.
