My fiancée knows how much I love to eat and cook. After we got engaged, and unbeknownst to me, she made a few reservations throughout the year to celebrate. The previous was Kei (Paris, 3*), but Plénitude has so far been the best experience.
I put the menu at the end, except for the desert which we switched. I’ll just focus on the experience.
The service is absolutely impeccable. I say this as I have not always found it to be the case in other Michelin star restaurants. They make you feel welcome, it’s neither stuffy nor too familiar, they really found the perfect balance.
As an example, they heard me talking about recipes I enjoy cooking and at the end of dinner gifted me the chef’s (Arnaud Donckele) cook book.
The food was fantastic, the chef puts the emphasis on sauces and every one of them was fantastic. Complex yet not overwhelming. They give you a saucier with each dish and I finished every single one of them.
Every table gets to visit the kitchen for the « trou normand » (calvados sorbet as a nice pause in the meal). The chef was working on the plates that were to be served to us. It was amazing watching them work.
As a Frenchman, their cheese room is a treasure trove of deliciousness, the blue cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had.
All in all, we spent 5 hours at the table and it felt like half that. Definitely recommend.
