Woke up this morning and saw that this beaut was put on CL 15hrs prior, for free. Was sure it would have been picked up overnight, and to my surprise, it wasn't.
Heavier than I was expecting, and didn't fully fit in the minivan, but I got it home! All of the pieces seem to be there. It looks like it has been uncovered for a while, definitely needs a cleaning, but she should restore and clean up nicely. Looking forward to this project.
This brings the collect to a 22in WSM, a 22in Performer, and this. I'm not counting the 18in wsm and other 22in kettle, since those are going on CL for sale.

Good pick up man. Would you mind taking some progress pictures and videos along the way? I’ve seen the restored ones on here but no one has shown the process.
I’d like to do the same, but would like to see someone’s best effort first so I don’t end up just rattle-canning this thing red and black.
I am currently, cleaning and painting one like that. It fired right up after sitting for years in a shed.
Is it an OG red or something someone painted red?
I have 11 Webers. My wife hasn’t called me a hoarder. Yet… but she knows I’m looking for a 85 to restore.
But this weeks BBQAnon meeting was two zone charcoal and burger basics…
I’d say her yourself a new wife and a new weber to restore while you’re at it.

Great find
So we bought my dad a similar grill (without the side burner) in 1998 for Father’s Day. He upgraded to a newer Weber in 2018, and I now have the old Red one.
My wife wants to upgrade to a newer style of grill, and I told her that since my dad passed away last year, you may have to bury me with this grill. I replaced burners on it this year, but will be planning a full “deep clean” restoration on it soon.
I had similar model years ago and in hindsight, I’d much prefer it to the new E-335 I bought. No real improvement in cooking and having the knobs directly under the cooking surface is TERRIBLE DESIGN, they get gunk when pulling stuff off the grill then are hard to clean AND the f@#$ing lettering and gauge lines are screen printed…they come off way easy. I hate the choices weber’s made past 20 years.
AFAIC, what you have there is the best grill Weber ever made, everything you need, nothing you don’t
Enjoy.
Score!!
You have inspired me to post mine and the process!
My wife says that too while she eats what I cook on them. Sigh
