i used to work in a tiny ass kitchen that couldnt support the ammount of tables the restaurant had WITH seasonal workers. i wanted to walk out like this everyday

After one of the most brutal shifts I’d ever had the manager dared to come up to me and tell me “well I think you guys could have worked a bit harder and faster.” I had to REALLY force myself to not completely blow up in her face after that one… Though I did tell her that we had done our very best, that I hadn’t seen her anywhere near the kitchen all day so she had no clue how it had gone, and that she had no right to berate me or any of us for the clusterfuck that was that dinner shift.

I remember seeing my head chef absolutely crumble mid-shift even worse than this. It was a complete car crash of a shift, and after 100 covers or so, he just throws a skillet on the solid top and stares at it like he wanted to kill himself right then and there.
