A big thank you to this awesome community! I’ve been lurking, reading, and learning from all of yall for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger on a Traeger Pro 34 and got my first cook under my belt.

With nothing but the knowledge I gained from here, I killed it. Juicy, delicious, tender, pretty crispy skin, and lots of smoke flavor.

1 hour at 225, then up to 350 to finish.

Temped all three chickens and pulled them at different times.

I think I can get the skin a bit crispier so I’m going to try finishing at a higher temp next time.

My girl and a good friend both said it was the best chicken they’ve ever had. Even after many “get outta here”s and “are you being serious and not exaggerating?? Really???”s they still maintained and were adamant that it was the best chicken they’ve had.

I was very proud of the cook.

Thanks again yall for helping me to start this smoking journey. I’m so excited. More to come!!

TL;DR Y’all’s enthusiasm got me hooked and y’all’s expertise guided me into an amazing first cook that was incredibly well received. Thanks so much!
