BUCKNER, Mo. (KCTV) – The popular Buckner Italian restaurant Tuscono’s announced it will close its doors permanently on Jan. 11, 2025, due to rising costs.
The restaurant made a post on Facebook on Dec. 26 around 9:50 a.m. announcing the closure
The post said that while Tuscono’s has enjoyed serving the community for over nine years, the rising costs of labor and food have greatly impacted operations. The recent passage of Proposition A in Missouri, which requires increased minimum wage and employers must provide paid sick leave, has further increased expenses.

It continued to say that the decision was not made lightly and, while staff deserve fair treatment, the financial realities make it challenging for the restaurant to provide the mandates from Proposition A without drastically increasing menu prices for customers.
Those with gift cards are encouraged to visit the restaurant before the closure.
