There’s no denying that Avril Lavigne is multi-talented, with a singing-songwriting career spanning multiple decades, including several No. 1 hits and Grammy nominations as well as voice acting stints, competition judging gigs and punk-influenced clothing lines.

But something that you may not know about the star is her talent for cheffing it up in the kitchen—she’s a confirmed foodie. On a recent podcast episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, Lavigne shared her dream of wanting to publish a cookbook one day.

“I love to cook,” the Canadian singer shared to host Kylie Kelce. “I’m actually really good at cooking, I could make literally anything and like, I’m a little chef at home. So I think it’d be fun to do a cookbook.”

She also mentioned that she’d be open to doing a cooking show, which we’re fully endorsing! When asked for her “signature dish,” Lavigne shared multiple dishes that she loves whipping up on the regular.

“I’m really good at Italian and just making pasta sauces,” she explains. “I do an angel hair and truffle pasta, bruschetta, caprese salad. I’ll just put out a big Italian feast.”

Her truffle pasta sounds so comforting. Plus, caprese salad and bruschetta are peak summer sides, and both star tomatoes which are packed with antioxidants and fiber for a nutritious, satisfying bite.

Some more bites from Lavigne: chicken tinga tacos, every kind of soup and “vodkamole,” her iteration of guacamole with vodka that she’s been making for decades. We’re partial to adding tequila to our guac, but the Sk8er Boi singer’s version also sounds yummy.

Lavigne’s love for cooking spans generations. Her mom and grandma would make “a lot of British meals,” and she continues to recreate them for a warm, cozy and protein-packed dinner.

“I make roast beef dinner, Yorkshire pudding with potatoes [and] gravy, so it’s like a Sunday roast,” she shares. “And shepherd’s pie and all that fun stuff.”

These fulfilling meals are making our mouths water, and it’s great to hear that she keeps nostalgic dishes on rotation. Try similar recipes like our Crispy English Roasted Potatoes and our highly-rated Vegan Shepherd’s Pie to replicate the magic at home.

Overall, we love that Lavigne’s favorite dishes aren’t *complicated*—just classic. They’re easy, hearty and bound-to-be-delicious options well-suited for any day of the week.
