An Italian restaurant in Sussex dubbed a “hidden gem” by visitors has been crowned one of the best on the continent.
Website 50 Top Pizza has revealed the top 50 pizzerias in Europe.
From spots in Austria and Spain to Slovakia and the Netherlands, there were also five UK spots highlighted.
And one popular spot in Sussex was among the top 50.
Making the list was Buon Appetito, in Burgess Hill.
Established in 2000, it is run by the Saulle family from the region of Campania in Italy.
Its website says it offers “fine dining, a remarkable wine list, music and on occasions entertainment”.
Meanwhile, the food is described as “authentic Italian cuisine”.
Buon Appetito also runs a site elsewhere in Sussex, in Hove.
The list by 50 Top Pizza said: “Buon Appetito is now presented in a completely renewed version, marking a clear leap in quality compared to the previous year.

Buon Appetito is highly rated on Tripadvisor, sitting at a 4.4/5 rating from more than 500 reviews.
The site in Hove has a 4.1 rating from just under 400 reviews.
