It’s my birthday month and I’m celebrating by trying as many well-priced tasting menus in SF I can. I went to Anomaly last week. This week was Rich Table’s “let us choose your adventure” tasting menu. Went solo, sat at the bar, and was blown away by the quality and creativity.
Standouts for me were the porcini doughnut, the uni cacio e pepe, the hangar steak with peaches, and the shrimp crudo with strawberries that took me back to the time I lived in Playa del Carmen.
If I had to give the cuisine a label I guess it would be global californian / new American? The ingredients were super fresh and every dish had a unique nod to another culture. Honestly felt like the most SF place to eat, if that makes any sense. Have to give a special call out to the service – phenomenal attention to detail and everyone was so incredibly kind and welcoming. This is one I will go back to again and again.
Next week: 7 Adams!

Try Ernest. Chef used to be at Rich Table. Very reasonably priced tasting menu and beautiful food both taste and presentation wise.
Sounds like a fun month!
All good places, you would enjoy them.
