Greek Lemon Rice | Easy and Tasty Recipe
This super simple Greek lemon rice is perfect for any day of the night. It’s the perfect side dish to any main course.This rice dish is bursting with the flavour of lemon and herbs,a refreshing and light addition to your dinner table.
Ingredients and methods:
1.Saute Aromatics:
In a large saucepan or deep skillet,melt 3 tbsp butter with a 2 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat.
Add diced onions,salt and black pepper.
sauté until onions become translucent and soft,about 3-4 minutes.
2.Add Herbs and Garlic:
Stir in minced garlic,dried dill,oregano,thyme,and lemon zest.
Cook for another 2 minutes,just until the garlic becomes fragrant (don’t let it brown).
3.Build the Rice Base:
Add the Lemon juice,rinsed jasmine rice,and fresh parsley.Stir everything to coat the rice in the buttery herb mixture.
4.Simmer :
Pour in 3 cups chicken stock,stir once,and bring to a gentle boil.
Reduce heat to low,cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until iiquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
5.Fluff and Serve:
Let rest 5 minutes off the heat.Fluff with a fork and garnish with more fresh parsley or lemon zest if desired.
