I bought a new house last fall and decided to use my cute little garden area for peppers. I’m not at all into gardening or growing plants so this is a totally new thing for me. However I love cooking with spicy peppers and thought this would be a perfect use of the space. I planted four jalapeño plants, three habanero plants and one caribbean red habanero plant. My mom also bought me a cute pink watering can & miracle grow, and my neighbor hand painted me a pepper garden rock for my birthday because they both know how seriously I’m taking this lol! I’m really proud of it so far and would love any tips/tricks to get my pepper plants flourishing. I’m in Wisconsin and planted over Memorial Day weekend. If anything, please just send positive vibes for green & growth! Thanks for reading 🌶️💚🌶️💚🌶️

My neighbor’s chickens ate my plants 2 days ago. I’m crushed. I thought a 3′ high fence was enough. Apparently not.

These look great! At some point nature will stomp on your heart and smear it across the pavement, but not this time! 😃

That’s a cool rock I might pick one out and do the same

Get some mulch on that soil; for instance, natural wood mulch, grass clippings, chopped up leaves, straw, etc. You could even do a combination of a few.

The mulch will keep the soil moist during really hot weather, but it’ll also hold some warmth in the soil when temperatures get cold, like overnight. It also helps keep weeds at bay.

Love your set up, gorgeous stone and that hot pink watering can is 🔥. Enjoy your peppers and the joy of gardening. To echo another comment, some mulch could make your life easier.
