PACIFIC BEACH, CA — Little Cakes Kitchen, a family-owned, Vista-based bakery renown for its baked goods and a two-time winner of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, has expanded sales to the bakery at Gelson’s Market in Pacific Beach.

Little Cakes Kitchen locations in San Diego County include its flagship bakery in Vista, with more than 100 rotating cupcake flavors, plus Gelson’s locations in Del Mar, Carlsbad and now Pacific Beach.

“We are thrilled to continue working with Don Hein and the beloved North county bakery by bringing them in-house to our Gelson’s Pacific Beach location,” said Gelson’s Chief Merchandising Officer John Bagan. “We can’t wait to share the award-winning sweet treats with the Pacific Beach community.”

The business bakes its goods from from scratch, serving up such cupcakes as the “Tuxedo,” a chocolate cake dipped in white chocolate ganache, topped with vanilla buttercream and crispy chocolate pearls, and “The Pearl,” a sweet almond cake with Bavarian cream, champagne Italian buttercream and edible pearls, plus, full-size cakes, cheesecakes, pies, cookies, breads and other specialties.
