NEWPORT, Ky. (WXIX) – The major food event that brings tens-of-thousands of Italian foodies together returns to Newport’s Festival Park at the Levee this weekend.

Thursday is the first day of the 33rd annual Newport Italianfest, a four-day tradition celebrating Greater Cincinnati’s Italian culture, heritage and history.

From cannoli’s and arancini to toasted ravioli and bruschetta, there will be a plethora of Italian cuisine options.

Restaurants participating include Pagano’s Italian Grill, Royal Roman’s Roadhouse, Gregorio’s Bistro, Pompillio’s, Shrimp Lips, Strong’s Pizza, Tony’s, Italian Tenderloins, CCS Empanadas, Italian Steakburgers and Cannolis.

Additionally, event-goers will be submersed in the Italian culture with history displays and live entertainment.
